Just a space where I can discuss thoughts on music, "popular" culture and education. Gebrauchmusik is German and means music for use or utility music. Sean Luyk made the name up and I liked it. It was originally going to be gesamtkunstMATT which was a play on gesamtkunstwerk.... I just love German.

I would say that most marches are, as with any artform there are going to be 'good' and 'bad'pieces....
As for why I would make that statement: there are some musicians who believe that marches and military music is less of an artform... it is music for use... hense Gedrauchmusik
